    Instructor: Veronika Beckh –
In her work Veronika Beckh emphasizes optical effects and illusions created by light refractions and reflections. She uses mimimal stereometric shapes such as spheres, cones or cylinders, which are often assembled. Most of her objects are moveable and
she plays with their balance points.
Born in Forchheim Veronika Beckh was trained as a glass maker in Zwiesel before she received her BA in glass 1998 from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham, her MFA in Applied Arts in 2004 from the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam and her MA in
Art in Context in 2008 from the Universität der Künste Berlin. From 1998 to 2004 she worked and gave course at the furnace of the LWL-Industriemuseum Glashütte Gernheim. Since 2005 she works as a self-employed artist from Berlin. Various stipends and
residencies led her to Pilchuck Glass School, North Lands Creative Glass in Lybster and to the Corning Museum of Glass.
