BERLIN SOUNDPAINTING ORCHESTRA
The Berlin Soundpainting Orchestra, created by Hada Benedito in 2012, is a group of experimental musicians, improvisers and composers coming from very different backgrounds and countries. Their live composed works, made of sound and movement, could be described as a trip of obscure and colorful images – an expansive way of traveling among improvisation and avand-garde music beyond contemporary jazz.

Soundpainting is an international sign language for live composition created by Walter Thompson in the 70s.
The language comprises more than 1200 gestures that are signed by the Soundpainter (or live composer) to indicate the type of material desired of the performers.
The creation is therefore composed live and collectively, through improvisation and the parameters signed by the Soundpainter.
